High heels or Stilettos?

What women do to be beautiful and sexy! In many cases we choose fashion over comfort. The popularity of high heels and stilettos is one example. Especially stilettos and their extremely high and narrow heels. You find the most famous women wearing them on television, the web and magazines. I look at the stilettos of today and think..."Are you kidding me? How can you possibly walk in those shoes?" I have heard that people have twisted and even broken their ankle while wearing them. I see their extreme design and think..."Health hazard!"

How bad are they for your health? When worn constantly, they can shorten the calf muscle, and Achilles tendon, making it uncomfortable, and even painful to wear flat shoes. They can cause foot deformities such as bunions, hammer toes and corns. When wearing them, our bodies are out of alignment putting stress on the back, knees and joints. The higher the heel, the worse the affect.

Anyone who has worn a pair of regular high heels knows that they are not the most comfortable shoes. We wear them anyway, because they make our legs look long and sexy. They give us height, and are very flattering when worn with a dress. It's just not the same when you see someone wearing flats. Just as any accessory or apparel, they're great to make a statement, add fun, style and color.

So how should we wear them? I heard someone call stilettos "Sitting shoes". I, myself, wear them when mostly sitting, taking another pair of shoes that were more suitable for walking for those just in case moments. It is suggested to wear thicker heels as they relieve some stress on the foot and give you more balance. When going out dancing or to work, high heels that are lower are more comfortable and appropriate. There are also many different types of shoe inserts available for comfort.

The extreme style of stilettos we see today, in my opinion, are a fad. As we have done over the years with many fashion fads, I think one day we'll look back at them and laugh.

Whether your an average high heel or stiletto girl, I don't think we will ever stop wearing them. I think the key is common sense and knowing when and when not to wear these shoes, and of course, taking care of our feet.

Beauty Queen

Of course you love beautiful clothes and fashion. You always wear the latest clothing and hairstyles. You practice proper etiquette and style. You enjoy dressing up especially when you're going out to a formal function.

You are likely a rebel who wants to make a statement in claiming who you are. Black is your color from lipstick, hair and nail polish, to your clothing. Your accessories are bold to say the least. Spikes, skulls, chains and anything black, or silver are usually the type of accessories you wear.

Business Professional

You wear nice collared shirts, blouses, polo shirts and sweaters. Neutral colored slacks such as khaki and black. Dresses and skirts with simple lines and design. This could be what you wear to work, but prefer dressing comfortable with a little touch of formality most of the time.

It's wonderful that we are all unique and special in our own way. That's what makes life interesting. Yet so many of us try to be anything but ourselves. We get caught up with our lives and people telling us who or what we are supposed to be. Whatever the reason, we sometimes lose a little of our self respect and integrity in the process.

The genuine you is just being who you truly are, and having the confidence, honesty and sometimes courage to do it. That's it! It really is a simple answer. It is you connecting to your true feelings and thoughts. Remembering who you are, where you came from and what feels right inside.

Genuine people are more likely to be leaders. These people are more confident and courageous. They are not afraid to think differently, and express it. They are sincere communicators.

You are one of a kind. No one has lived your life that has made you who you are today. There is no one who feels and thinks exactly like you. YOU ARE SPECIAL! Remember to ask yourself if it feels right, is this truly what you want or who you are. Is this what you're thinking or feeling?

One of the most important things we can do for our appearance, is have a great smile. Smiling can change your look in an instant in a positive way.

A smile can have many advantages. It’s contagious. You can walk into a crowded room, smile and see many smiles in return. It shows people that you are happy.

Studies have shown that smiling is good for your health. It can have a calming affect, lowering your blood pressure. Smiling can boost your immune system, influence your mood and relieve stress.

Smiling can lead into laughter. Who does not like to laugh?

A smile makes you more attractive. People are more receptive to a smiling face. It can make you look and feel more confident. You are more approachable, because they see you in a happy mood.

It does not cost a thing to put a smile on your face, nor does it take a lot of time to do. So remember…Before you meet your date, make that presentation, walk into that party...BEFORE you head out the door, PUT YOUR BEST SMILE ON! It could be the most important thing you do for yourself all day.
